HANDBUILT CERAMIC MERMAID |

Move over Ariel, there is a new girl in town. Here is a wonderful example of multi piece hand building. Unlike pinching all the details from one piece of clay; this mermaid is made of individual pieces that have been “scored” or scratched and wetted with a vinegar and clay solution to make the pieces adhere. There is a long history of female figures in ceramics. Check out The Metropolitain Museum of Art in New York City, New York, USA @ www.metmuseum.org/ |
