Walking home, after school one day; I was cutting across a vacant lot to aviod the gruff crossing guard at the corner. One of my third grade students , Lex , was walking home with his Grandmother. He called out " Hey, Mr. Prankard ! Why are you going that way? " " I'm walking the hypotinose of a triange. A squared + B squared. It's shorter." He smiled " OH ! = C squared. " His Grandmother looked at us both with abandon.
