“PURSY” FACE JUG

Up until the 1950's a spirited soul known for having fun socially was called " gay ." Christmas carols celebrated “ gay apparel”. Nick, in Fitsgerald 's The Great Gadsby went to gay parties. This, of course, is no longer the case. What nickname or nom de plume [ big plume ] would you assign to a man who was light of foot, spoke with an affected lisp and carried a clutch ? Move over Grace and Will's Jack; there another gay blade out on the town . " Pursy " He was not well dressed, that is to say he only wore dresses for spethal ocassions. He was a wonder. A spectical of human; homo sapian ; well homo behavoir. His poverty manifested itself in a gross lack of sophistication, poor hygene and dental madness. He spoke in jargon and people in the neighborhood left him alone. His best friend was FAT. Pursy's oldest friend is Hector. When Pursy's mother passed, he gave Hector her favorite lighter.
