These are nineteenth century bow saws. [ and milk pails with lids ]
There was a time when it was a big deal to buy a saw blade to cut wood.
Just the blade, mind you.
The owner of the metal blade had to fashion their own handle.
Here are three hand made bow saws.
As you can see, each handle is slightly different.
The trim yoke uses the same principles to hold the cutting wire tight.
