The starting point for this Green Pitcher was a pile of my drawings from an elementary school art lesson. The drawings were comprised of brightly colored crayon geometric patterns. They were the result of demonstrations on how to compose a full page design with colorful patterns. They are complex. After transposing the patterns to the earthenware pitcher, each color requires three layers of underglaze for the color to be opaque. The surface design is quite labor intensive.
