The Syracus Platter is inspired by the De Stijil movement from the Bauhaus School of Design in the 1930's. This was a visual philosophy that extoled geometric form as a foundation for design. The De Sijil was a group of young Dutch architects that joined forces with painter Pirt Mondrian to create a new style in architecture. Mondrian's theory of equlibrium was based on the idea of creating a sence of balance; using unequal, but reciprocal elements in a design. See GEOMETRICS ENLARGE | |
