Designate a special gallon container to store the glaze used for the inside of the soap pumps. There is fired clay dust and small particles that remain inside. They are of little consequense if they remain inside. However, if the random chips and flecks get into the main vat, the outside of future glazing pieces will be compromised. |
||
Use a funnel to keep the glaze from the outside of the soap pump.
It is not necessary to totally fill the inside. When you are pouring the glaze back into the designated
container; a good shaking will assure complete coverage. It is prudent to let the inside glaze completely
dry before glazing the outside. The outside glaze wil adhere more evenly if the entire exterior is
equally dry. Oh yeah; since the bottom of the soap pump is obviously being glazed, it is mandatory to
use wire stilts for glaze drying and firing.
