CERAMIC WARE SHELVES

A ware shelf unit is an empty frame without shelves.

This image of the shelves is rather difficult to see.
It is designed to slide wareboards into slots at various heights.
My shelves are on wheels; the whole unit is about the size of a dish washer; they have formica tops from discarded kitchen counters.
42 inches high x 31 inches wide x 24 inches deep
107 cm x 79 cm x 61 cm
They accomidate wareboards and drying racks 18 wide x 27 1/ 2 wide.

They can sit side by side to form a counter. [ table ]
Or they can be stacked on top of each other to save floor space.
If you look closely, the shelves to the right of the cental unit,is a rolling aluminum bakery shelf unit. Bought at a bankrupcy auction.
To the left, is a rolling bread delivery wire shelf unit. It came from the trash heap behind a defunct convience store in June, 1981.

This is a basic layout for ware shelves. The dimentions are up to you. However, a good size would be the same dimentions as a sheet of newspapr. That way, you could quickly cover a ware board wwithout folding.
Look for construction sites or home improvement projects for free materials.
Quality materials are of little consequence on this project.
Do paint it. A painted surface is easier to hose down for dust control every five or six years.

As you can see, here two units are stacked one on the other.
Actually.the top shelf unit is upside down.
That way, the wheels dod not have to be removed. The unit as a whole is stronger.
At this particular time, the shelves are more for storage than wareboards.
BUT ...The potential is certainlty there.
We have four units. They are stacked two at a time to save floor space.
One might say, our studio is; well ...
Vertically challenged.
